For King and Country: A Grammy Award-winning Duo

For King and Country is a Grammy award-winning Christian pop duo from Australia, composed of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. The duo has made waves in the music industry with their unique blend of powerful vocals, innovative musical arrangements, and inspiring lyrics. #ForKingandCountry

The brothers grew up in a musical family and were heavily influenced by their father, a musician and concert promoter. They started their musical journey in the early 2000s as members of the band “The Smallbone Brothers.” However, in 2009, they decided to form their own duo and named it “For King and Country,” inspired by a phrase from a British battle cry.

For King and Country’s music has been described as a mix of pop, rock, and electronic dance music (EDM), with a Christian message that resonates with audiences of all backgrounds. Their lyrics often reflect on the struggles of faith, hope, and love, and their music has been praised for its emotional depth and musical artistry.

The duo’s debut album, “Crave,” was released in 2012 and featured hit singles like “Busted Heart (Hold On To Me),” “The Proof Of Your Love,” and “Middle Of Your Heart.” The album received critical acclaim and helped establish For King and Country as one of the most promising acts in contemporary Christian music.

In 2014, the duo released their second album, “Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong.,” which earned them a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. The album features popular songs such as “Fix My Eyes,” “Shoulders,” and “It’s Not Over Yet.”

For King and Country released a song called “Priceless” in 2016, which was inspired by the human trafficking crisis and the value of every human life. As a way to further promote their message and raise awareness about the issue, the band launched a campaign called “Priceless | A Movement for Life” in partnership with The Price of Life organization.

As part of the campaign, For King and Country created a special limited edition coin that they called a “Pence.” The coin was designed to represent the value of every human life and was meant to be a physical reminder of the message behind their song “Priceless.”

The Pence coin was made of solid copper and was inscribed with the words “Priceless | A Movement for Life.” For King and Country encouraged their fans to purchase the coin and carry it with them as a reminder of the value of human life and their commitment to fighting against human trafficking and exploitation.

In addition to the coin, For King and Country also created a short film called “Priceless” that tells the story of a man who sets out to rescue his daughter from a human trafficking ring. The film was released in theaters in 2016 and helped raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking.

Overall, For King and Country’s “Priceless | A Movement for Life” campaign and the Pence coin were a powerful way to promote their message of the value of every human life and to encourage their fans to take action to fight against human trafficking and exploitation.

For King and Country’s third album, “Burn The Ships,” was released in 2018 and features the hit single “Joy.” The album was inspired by the brothers’ personal struggles and explores themes of redemption and letting go of the past. “Burn The Ships” has received critical acclaim and has been praised for its raw honesty and musical sophistication.

Aside from their musical success, Joel and Luke Smallbone are also known for their philanthropic efforts. They have worked with various organizations to help those in need, including the Salvation Army, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and World Vision. In 2020, they released a song called “Together” to raise awareness and funds for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

One lesser-known fact about For King and Country is that they actually started out their music career in Australia as a band called “Joel & Luke.” They released an independent album titled “A Tale of Two Towns” in 2007, which showcased their early musical style and songwriting abilities.

After the release of “A Tale of Two Towns,” Joel and Luke decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue their music career further. It was there that they formed For King and Country and began to develop their unique sound and message.

Another interesting fact about For King and Country is that they have a strong connection to the film industry. Luke Smallbone has acted in several films, including “Like a Country Song” and “Priceless,” which he also co-produced. Joel Smallbone has also acted in films, including “The Book of Esther” and “Priceless,” which he co-wrote and co-directed.

In addition, For King and Country has contributed to the soundtracks of several movies, including “The Shack,” “Priceless,” and “Ben-Hur.” Their music has also been featured on popular TV shows, such as “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Today Show,” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

In conclusion, For King and Country is a duo that has made a significant impact on the contemporary Christian music scene with their unique sound and inspiring lyrics. Their music has resonated with audiences of all backgrounds and has earned them critical acclaim and numerous awards. The brothers’ philanthropic efforts have also helped make a positive impact on the world. For King and Country is a testament to the power of music to inspire and uplift, and their music is a must-listen for anyone looking for inspiration and hope.

The Red & Black Ant Analogy — Understanding the True Enemy — In the natural world, there’s a fascinating phenomenon involving ants. If you place 100 black ants and 100 red ants in a jar, they coexist peacefully. However, if the jar is shaken, chaos ensues. The ants, now agitated, begin to attack each other, perceiving their fellow jar-mates as the enemy. This behavior provides a poignant metaphor for human society, where often the true adversary is not the one who appears different from us, but rather the one who incites division.
