The More You Miss Church the Less You Miss Church - Which is so true the more you do not go to church the more you won’t miss going - the more you go, the more you will miss when you miss.

The More we miss church the more we won’t want to keep going, we will get in a destructive habit. Soon we have stumbled far from going to church and it is no big deal if we miss.

In our fast-paced and hectic lives, it’s not uncommon for individuals to find themselves missing church services more often than they would like. Whether it’s due to work commitments, family obligations, or simply a lack of motivation, many people struggle to prioritize attending church regularly. However, it’s essential to understand that the more we miss church, the less we realize the profound impact it can have on our lives.

For example, What I Miss About the Physical Gathering of the Local Church – this I write during the pandemic.

Skip Rope, Not Church a good thing when we skip church what does that say about how we value the church, Jesus’s bride!

Jesus died for the Church, the Church is a body of believers not the building! Keep that in mind too!

Why we are told not forsake the assembly! Hebrews 10:25 because we need each to sharpen each other Proverbs 27:17.

Yes! They are times we can’t go! God knows and understands like work, sickness, etc. But to not go just because … that is different!

When we’ve gone out of town or vacation, we will search out churches near where we are staying and see if they are close to what we believe. The great thing about the internet is they most of them will post their core values and beliefs.

Please know that when you miss church you are missed by your fellow brothers and sisters.

  1. Spiritual Nourishment: Attending church provides us with spiritual nourishment and guidance. It’s a place where we can connect with a community of believers, engage in worship, and hear teachings that inspire and challenge us. When we miss church frequently, we deny ourselves the opportunity to experience this uplifting environment and the wisdom shared by pastors and fellow congregants.
  2. Community and Support: Church is more than just a building; it’s a community of like-minded individuals who come together to support and encourage one another. By attending church regularly, we become part of a larger spiritual family that can provide emotional and practical assistance during difficult times. When we consistently miss church, we inadvertently isolate ourselves from this valuable network of support.
  3. Accountability and Growth: Regular church attendance fosters a sense of accountability and commitment to our faith. Being part of a faith community provides a structure that encourages us to grow in our spiritual journey. When we miss church frequently, we lose the chance to engage in conversations, small groups, and mentorships that can foster personal and spiritual growth.
  4. Corporate Worship: Worshiping together as a congregation is a powerful and transformative experience. The collective praise and worship uplift our spirits, deepen our connection to God, and remind us of our purpose. By regularly missing church, we miss out on the opportunity to join in this communal worship and experience the beauty and power of corporate praise.
  5. Learning and Inspiration: Church services offer a unique platform for learning and inspiration. Through sermons, Bible studies, and other educational programs, we can gain knowledge, insights, and practical guidance for living out our faith. Each time we miss church, we deny ourselves the chance to be inspired and equipped for our spiritual journey.
  6. Encouragement and Renewal: Attending church provides a place of refuge where we can find encouragement and renewal. It offers a break from the demands of daily life, allowing us to refocus on our spiritual well-being. Regularly missing church limits our exposure to these vital moments of refreshment and encouragement, making it harder to find the strength to persevere in challenging times.

While missing church occasionally is understandable and inevitable, it’s crucial to recognize the long-term impact of frequently neglecting our attendance. The more we miss church, the more we miss out on the spiritual nourishment, community, accountability, worship, learning, inspiration, and renewal that it offers. Let us make a conscious effort to prioritize attending church regularly, so that we can fully embrace the profound benefits it brings to our lives and our spiritual growth.

Another food for thought … what if Jesus skipped doing something for us, like we miss going to church.
