Catching Faith Trailer

Catching Faith Synopsis

John and Alexa Taylor appear to have the perfect life – they’re the envy of all the parents in town. Their son Beau is the high school football star and their daughter Ravyn is a straight-A student. But when Beau is caught drinking alcohol, his place on the team and his bright future are on the line. With the football season at stake and the judgmental community turning their backs on them, every member of the Taylor family is at a crossroads. Now, they must find the strength from one another, and the spiritual courage from within, to prove that faith and family is the only score that really matters.1.

Just with the opening credits, my daughter goes Holstein, talking about the cows. She saw the Holsteins and said I like it already! She is fascinated with cows I might add. She wants to be a veterinarian.
I will advice that the movie does show some drinking.

I recommend you watch this movie and watch as the story unfolds from as a seemingly perfect family is shunned by their community after their football-player son is caught drinking and the death of a family member.

“If you believe in God, you have to tell the truth.” The dad told Beau. He added “Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching.” I want to remind you that God is always watch. No one else may now that you don it, secret sin, but God does.

[pullquote]”Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody’s watching.”[/pullquote]

What if telling the truth could cost you everything? Would you speak up and tell the truth? The Bible says the Truth will set you free. John 8:32.

The movie at first to me seemed hard to watch and understand what was going on. But, it later did get better and made the first part of the movie make more since.

There was talk about God, Jesus Christ and even the Bible with a few Bible verses used in it. One of those mentions was in 1 Kings with Elijah. This movie also reminds us that God’s plan always don’t look like we think they should.

This movie, I believe also shows that you can let those consequences define you or let God define you. It also shows us that all actions have consequences. I tell this to my daughter all the time. I tell her too that it often affects those around us. This movie shows exactly as the actions of this young man not only affected him, his community, his family, and his team.

I liked what the coach told Beau, that he is still on the team even though he is benched. Just because you are sitting on the side lines with God doesn’t mean we give up. We wait patiently and still offer encouragement to others. The coach gives Him these words of advice. That You are the man! Like what Nathan said to David in 2 Samuel 12:7 and the coach read the verse to Beau. Below is that verse.

Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.

If the the pieces seem to fall apart, will you give it God and allow Him to put it together or will you still try to put the pieces back together in a puzzle where the pieces don’t seem to fit?

I will be honest toward the end I did have a couple of tears. The ending was great! I do recommend you watch this movie so stick around until the end. It was so worth it. You might be a little lost here and there, but the end will bring it all to an end you can say.

My mom said she would like to see it again. My daughter told me in her Family Parenting class it is good to sit at the table. It helps you eat less because everyone in the family can see the portions you eat plus she added, “I liked how Beau’s sister, Ravyn, turn something she was going to do and didn’t do just because of Beau’s example. It almost makes me wonder if they will make form of a sequel and do from her point of view.”

There was some football scenes played in this movie, but most of it centered around the family and those around or affected by the family. Unlike most of the faith-based football movies seem to have a lot of football in them. Speaking of football. Football season is just around the corner. This would be a great buy for the biggest or the smallest football fan.

Here is a small list of some of the other football faith-based movies that I have seen. I believe if you enjoyed them, you will enjoy this one too.

I do believe this movie is geared for older teenagers and up.

This movie does show no matter what family needs to stay together and keeping their faith in God.

This movie also shows the start of The Elijah Project. The Elijah Project is a workbook that will follow Elijah’s story while helping to unearth your story. There is a simple model for health and healing: Realize, Reflect,Reconcile, Rest, and Re-Engage. Keeping these key words in mind will help as new stressors emerge and you seek to stay connected with God. (taken from their website)
